KAMMCO is pleased to announce that beginning January 1, 2022, we’re offering Higher Limits for License Defense Costs coverage in Kansas.*
All Policies Have Basic Embedded Coverage
KAMMCO currently offers embedded license defense coverage at no additional cost to our members. As a member, if a licensure matter is initiated against you during your policy term, KAMMCO’s embedded defense coverage provides for costs associated with your defense at $2,500 per licensure matter with a $5,000 annual aggregate.
Higher Limits for License Defense Coverage
KAMMCO’s new License Defense Costs Higher Limit Coverage, provides for defense costs up to $25,000 per licensure matter with a $25,000 annual aggregate. This endorsement may be purchased for $250 per provider. The embedded coverage will also remain in place.
A licensure matter, as defined in the new insuring agreement, is a matter initiated against the insured by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts, Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts, Kansas Board of Nursing, Missouri Board of Nursing, Kansas Dental Board, or the Missouri Dental Board. Coverage includes attorney fees and other costs and expenses incurred in defending the insured in the licensure matter. It will not, however, cover any fines or penalties imposed by the regulatory agency.
