2020 Spring Education Webinar
Recorded on April 29, 2020
Presenter
Catherine Wahlberg, JD
Program Description
What should a healthcare provider do when they suspect a patient has been subjected to child abuse or neglect? What can they do? In this webinar, Ms. Walberg will outline the nuts and bolts of when, how, and to whom members of the healthcare community should make reports of suspected child abuse or neglect. She will explore how to distinguish routine childhood health issues from the physical, mental, and emotional signs of possible abuse or neglect. She will also discuss documentation of the child’s condition in the health record as contrasted with retention of documentation of the report in the health care professional’s compliance records.
