The Kansas Medical Society’s 2023 Advocacy Day offers a unique opportunity to join physicians from all specialties across the state to directly participate in the legislative process and personally meet your state lawmakers. Advocacy Day will include opportunities to connect with your peers, hear from KMS leadership, meet lawmakers, and learn about the legislative process while providing input on critical policies affecting physicians and patients. Some specialties will hold separate meetings, and we will join together at the state capitol over lunch for the first collective Physician Day at the Statehouse.
What’s to Expect
KMS Advocacy Day will include breakfast, legislative briefing and discussion with policymakers, breakouts for specialty-specific priorities, and the opportunity to meet individually with your state legislators. We will conclude our Advocacy Day by joining the Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine and the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians for a luncheon with legislators under the dome — all physicians and all legislators are invited to attend the Physician Day at the Statehouse luncheon.
Advocacy at the Statehouse
Whether you view advocacy as a responsibility or an option, your community participation, leadership, and collective voices are essential to physicians’ continued leadership in healthcare. We encourage you to lend your voice by participating in advocacy and joining us for KMS Advocacy Day and Physician Day at the Statehouse.
